ERT Announces NOAA Team Member/Employee of the Year Honorees

ERT is pleased to announce that two of our employees were recently named by NOAA as recipients of prestigious yearly awards for 2017. Jason Greenlaw was selected as the National Ocean Service Team Member of the Year and Lisa Hessler was selected as the Outstanding Support and Policy Employee of the Year by the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service.
 

Greenlaw is a software developer at the Office of Coast Survey’s Coast Survey Development Laboratory in Durham, New Hampshire. He serves as the lead software developer of NOAA's nowCOAST utility, a geographic information system-based web mapping portal that provides integrated access to maps of near-real-time observations and NOAA forecasts for any region in the coastal United States via its map viewer and its 60 web map services.  Greenlaw’s citation remarks that he has “consistently demonstrated exceptional initiative and creativity in finding solutions to customer-driven requirements and has consistently developed innovative strategies for improving nowCOAST’s content, functionality, and reliability.”
 

Hessler is a Project Manager in the Program Management Office at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility in Suitland, Maryland. Her management efforts span the following areas: program support services, library services and documentation, outreach and education, meetings, property, and materials. Hessler, who supports the Office of Satellite and Product Operations Direct Services Branch, was selected for “outstanding and effective support communicating with domestic and international partners of the Search and Rescue Satellite Aided Tracking program.”
 

Hessler received her honor during an awards ceremony on November 6, 2017 and Greenlaw will receive his honor during a ceremony on December 4, 2017.
