ERT Wins NWFSC Computer Programming Services Contract

The Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC) studies living marine resources (e.g., salmon, groundfish, and killer whales) and their habitats in the Northeast Pacific Ocean-primarily off the coasts of Washington and Oregon and in freshwater rivers and streams in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. NOAA Fisheries, along with collaborators throughout the Northwest region, has developed a simulation model (Comprehensive Passage Model, COMPASS) of the migration of juvenile salmon through the Snake and Columbia rivers. The interface allows users to manipulate model inputs and also view results.

Under this new contract, ERT contractors will work with a small team that will provide guidance on new developments for the model and modify existing algorithms.
