ERT has been awarded the Sensor Science and Technology Applications contract by NOAA National Environmental Satellite Data Information Service’s (NESDIS) Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR). The contract, with a potential value of $21 million over five years, was awarded using our SciTech II contract vehicle. Ken Carey has been selected to serve as the Program Manager for this effort.
NESDIS STAR is the science arm of NOAA’s Satellite and Information Services, which acquires and manages the nation’s environment satellites for NOAA. The instruments onboard NOAA satellites cover the spectrum ranging from ultra-violet, visible, infrared to microwave wavelengths and require science algorithms for prelaunch and postlaunch calibrations. Under this new contract, ERT will conduct scientific and technical research to better characterize the performance of satellite instruments onboard various research and operational platforms, and prepare for the scientific capabilities required for potential future satellite instruments.
